WINCHESTER, KY - [May 30, 2024] - Kentucky Bariatric Institute (KBI) is thrilled to announce the opening of its new clinic in Winchester, Kentucky. This expansion aims to provide more accessible, high-quality bariatric care to patients in Eastern Kentucky. The new facility will offer a full range of weight loss and metabolic surgery services, emphasizing personalized patient care and long-term health improvement.
Dr. Eric Smith, a renowned bariatric surgeon and Medical Director at Kentucky Bariatric Institute, is particularly excited about this new clinic. A native of Ashland, Kentucky, Dr. Smith has a deep connection to Eastern Kentucky and a strong desire to give back to his community. With this new location, Dr. Smith and the entire KBI team will be able to serve patients closer to home, reducing travel burdens and making it easier for individuals to receive the care they need.

Patients can expect to receive the same high standard of care that the Kentucky Bariatric Institute is known for. For bariatric surgery, patients will have their procedure in Georgetown, where the hospital’s surgery team has decades of experience in performing quality bariatric surgeries. Most preoperative appointments and screenings, as well as post-operative care can be done at their Winchester office in partnership with Clark Regional Medical Center.
